Alice & Tom’s London Wedding Story.
Thinking about wedding venues that truly reflect your style? We recently photographed a wonderful London wedding that perfectly captured this, featuring a unique ceremony venue and a fantastic pub reception.
Alice and Tom chose to get married at The Asylum Chapel in Peckham, a location we absolutely love and often photograph at. They offer both chapel rentals and a reception space, conveniently located within walking distance of each other. As photographers, we especially appreciate the chance to capture those lovely in-between moments when everything is close by.
For their reception, Alice and Tom selected The Jolly Gardener pub in Vauxhall. It was just a short 25-minute bus ride from the chapel, providing a fun opportunity to capture some great shots of the couple and their guests on a traditional London bus. The Jolly Gardener, with its history dating back to the 1950s and beautiful original features like wooden floors, marble fireplaces, and art deco touches, made for a stunning and characterful reception venue.
We also highly recommend taking a little time away from the main celebrations to head to the riverside for some beautiful portraits – a romantic stroll by the water can create truly special memories. You can see some of Alice and Tom’s riverside photos below.
When you’re choosing your wedding venue, our best advice is to plan the day that feels right for you. However, it’s worth keeping in mind that London traffic, particularly on weekends and during warmer months, can be unpredictable. Opting for venues that are within walking distance or a short bus ride from each other can make things much smoother. If your venues are further apart, having your photographer travel with you ensures they don’t miss any precious moments. Luckily, London has so many amazing options, so we encourage you to explore your favourite areas and find a venue that truly speaks to you.
