The Ragged School Museum Wedding of Bethany & Joe.
“My goodness, these are breathtaking! They brought a tear to my eye! They are exactly what we hoped for and more. The energy, the colours and the little magic moments that you’ve managed to capture really sum up the essence of the day, such a lovely celebration! Thank you!” – Bethany & Joe.
We had the pleasure of photographing Bethany and Joe’s wedding at the Ragged School Museum in East London. As photographers, we always appreciate the opportunity to work in unique locations, and this venue was brimming with character and history. It’s wonderful when couples seek out alternative venues that hold personal significance. In this case, the museum is local to Bethany and Joe, and its educational focus resonates with them as teachers.
Their wedding was lovely, full of a great energy, their faith played an important role during the day. They married in Bethnal Green at St. Matthew’s Church, their ceremony was full of hymns and music. really nice! Right after it we had confetti, canapés and speeches. A red double decker took the guests to the reception venue. The Ragged School Museum in Mile End.
This East London gem was once the city’s largest ragged school, a vital part of a movement led by notable figures like Dr. Barnardo, Angela Burdett-Coutts, and Charles Dickens. Originally opened in 1877, it offered free education and a safe haven to countless impoverished children. If you’re searching for a venue steeped in history and personality, this is an excellent choice!
Recently renovated, the building boasts a stunning Victorian warehouse and loft-style event space available for weddings and other events. The interior is open and airy, with large windows that flood the space with natural light.
