A happy couple in wedding attire stands against contrasting walls, the groom in a brown suit looking lovingly at the bride in a white, feathered dress, holding a bouquet. A unique, modern wedding photo.

A Spanish bride & English groom. A blend of cultures and traditions in this fusion wedding at St Stephen’s church in Hampstead.

It’s incredibly convenient to have your wedding day all under one roof – ceremony, reception and party in one space. This is a huge advantage for both the couple and the guests.
Besides St Stephen’s Church, it’s a beautiful building with lovely brickwork and huge windows letting in plenty of light.

Alicia and Duncan married surrounded by family and friends, including guests from Barcelona and various parts of the UK and Europe.
Speaking both English and Spanish was a huge advantage for me, as I communicated easily with everyone at the wedding.

I began the photographic coverage at the church. Alicia skipped the getting ready photos and preferred to focus on the guests arriving and the overall atmosphere rather than photos of her in preparation. This is exactly how we work – we adapt to our couples’ plans and visions for their day.

The ceremony was incredibly emotional, filled with happy tears and excitement. They sealed their love by lighting a candle, sharing a kiss and dancing out with a twirl! Speeches were split into two segments – one during cocktail hour and the other before the wedding breakfast. Their entrance was epic, with everyone singing and waving napkins.

After the speeches and dessert, we took a break to shoot some more frames in the street around the venue as the sun began to set. We usually plan this part in advance, going out with the couple after the day is almost over. At this point, they’re usually relaxed and the pressure from the ceremony, speeches and all that is behind them. It’s all about having a great time and capturing memories.

The day ended on the dance floor with the first dance and guests partying – old and young alike. Everyone was celebrating this beautiful love story. It was a truly wonderful day, and we’re so grateful to Alicia and Duncan for allowing us to document their special day and be their wedding photographers at St Stephen’s Church.

Here are a few frames from their story.
